Hinckley Smokin' Rib Fest

The Hinckley Smokin' Rib Fest was held on Saturday, September 6th, and was a big success with attendance much larger than anyone anticipated. Many people came to enjoy the good food from Famous Dave's, Hog Wild, Tobies and The Webb Lake Cabaret. The Cabaret took away the people's choice award by getting the most votes in any one category. The open class participants had a great time, and Dave O'Neil from Lake Elmo won the Judge's Grand Choice trophy. Thank you to all the open class participants, and we hope to see you next year! We also would like to thank the sponsors, J&B Group, Premium Farms, Kemps, Grand Casino Hinckley, Hinckley CVB, Kanabec Hospital, Bernick's, and Culligan. We want to extend a big thank you to the many people who gave a helping hand at the event, and last but not least, the Hinckley Smokin' Rib Fest committee for all the time and effort they gave to this event.

Fall Wine Tasting

Now is the time to get your tickets to the Fall Wine Tasting that will be held in Tobies Big Kettle room on Thursday evening, October 9th from 6:00 - 8:30pm. Tickets may be purchased from Coldwell Banker Pro IV, Firehouse Liquors, First National Bank of the North, Lake State Federal Credit Union, Wanna Video, and Woodland's National Bank. Tickets in advance are $20.00 per person or $30.00 per couple. You may also buy them at the door for $25.00 per person. There will be over 100 different wines, beer specialties, cordials, available for you to sample along with some great hor de oeuvres. Wine vendors will be there to give you advice on what wines would be better for different foods or occasions. Bring along your Christmas list as special deals are being offered on all wines ordered that evening.

Hinckley Chamber Meetings

The next meeting of the Hinckley Chamber will be held on October 14th, at noon, at Tobies. We will have two speakers. Jerry Schults from Grindstone River Plaza will be giving us some updates on this huge project. Minnesota Energy will also be giving us information on commercial, industrial, and residential rebates.
