Chamber Membership
The Hinckley Area Chamber of Commerce has served the community for more years than local historians can remember. It first began as The Commercial Club on or before the year 1911, and sometime during the 1960s, the name was changed to the Hinckley Area Chamber of Commerce. One of the original members, The Hinckley News established in 1891, is still in operation today. There are several other members including Cassidy’s Restaurant, Hinckley Drug, Woodland’s Bank, and Hinckley Chevrolet that have served the community for over 80 years.
The focus of the Hinckley Area Chamber of Commerce is to promote our businesses and enhance the promotion of the city and the extended area. Our businesses are a vital tool needed for growth and prosperity. The hope is to share and grow together with the community of Hinckley. The Chamber helps encourage community spirit by sponsoring local events including the Easter Egg Hunt, City-wide garage sale, Corn & Clover Carnival, and Santa Days. We also have fund-raising events such as Rhino Arena Beer Tent, MS Bike-a-Thon Beer Tent, Chamber Golf Tournament, and the silent auction and raffles at the Santa Days Community Dinner.
The Hinckley Area Chamber of Commerce has an annual Chamber Steak Fry that is held in September at West Side Park. This is for members and their employees to get together in a relaxed atmosphere to just have fun. It is a good time to get to know each other on a personal level. Also for Chamber members only is our “Business After Hours” that has been implemented this year. A Chamber member will host a gathering at their business or a location of their choice after business hours. This is good opportunity for Chamber members to network and relax by participating in these Chamber functions.
History shows that the Hinckley Chamber has played a major role in bringing the businesses and the community together. Being a Chamber member is knowing that you are involved with businesses and other community minded individuals that are looking for different methods to help our businesses prosper and make this an enjoyable town to live or visit. The Chamber serves as a united voice in issues concerning the community.
